TAIWAN IN INK - A Story of Chaos and Calligraphy
A hybrid documentary that combines real interviews with AI-generated imagery to tell the story of Teresa, a calligrapher in Taipei. As she reflects on the political uncertainty in Taiwan, she turns to Chinese calligraphy as a way to cultivate inner peace. The film explores calligraphy not just as an art form, but as a meditative practice—rooted in tradition, and offering a quiet resistance to the anxiety of the present.

HOW WE USED GEN AI
In this project, we wanted to experiment with all possible tools — from research through every step of the editing process. We used MidJourney, Sora, Google Veo, Kling, Hailuo, Luma, Runway, and GPT-4o. A key part of our process was reflecting on how to use AI ethically in a documentary — in a way that felt true to us. That meant sharing the work with Teresa, asking for her feedback, and making sure her voice stayed at the center of the film.
