WHOSE CHILD ARE YOU? OFFICIAL TRAILER
"Whose Child Are You?" is a hybrid documentary that blends real footage with AI-generated images to tell the story of Silvio, a former printer from Castelnuovo Scrivia, Italy. The film explores his life-changing decision to open a restaurant at 60, in the same bar tied to a childhood memory, reflecting on family, tradition, and identity.
HOW WE USED GEN AI
Whose Child Are You?, DocuFusion AI's first hybrid documentary, began with Silvio’s childhood memory, visualized through AI. We crafted the script with ChatGPT’s VocalMode, developed initial visuals in MidJourney, and used Runway Gen-3’s text-to-video to deepen Silvio’s reflections. In a second revision, Runway’s image-to-video brought old photos to life, creating new scenes like a childhood image of Silvio and Cinzia together. Topaz enhanced quality, while multiple regenerations refined each image, achieving a rich, immersive aesthetic that brings their shared history to life.
SHOWCASE
We used Runway Gen-3's new image-to-video feature to bring old photos of Silvio and other key figures to life. For instance, Silvio and Cinzia had only separate childhood photos, yet they’d known each other from a young age. By combining these images, we created a scene where they appear together, capturing their early connection. This new layer added depth to the film, making their shared history feel both vivid and emotionally resonant.
